NURSE'S
BADGE
This impressive and rather delightful artefact comes to us
courtesy of Jeanne Hopkins, Cadet
nurse/Student nurse/SRN at the CRCMH from 1948-1952. Intricately
forged on silver with green, white, and red enamel - the lettering
and a Maple leaf edged with gold - it was awarded
to nurses for passing the final hospital exams. A good enough reason
to study hard I'd say...

The ultimate in CRCMH memorabilia?
...but
is it just me that senses a potentially masonic "noughts and
crosses" theme cunningly incorporated into the design for no
apparent reason? Perhaps they were buttons to fire darts at irritating
patients?
