NORTHERN
& MATERNITY AREA BLUEPRINTS
Much
like the Boiler Room plans,
these recently unearthed large draughting sheets (discovered and photographed
for you here by Michael in November 2002) are a boon for the CRCMH
enthusiast. They depict designs for oxygen installation in the improvements
to the labour suite (July 1973) and plans for the resiting of the
generator and installation of oil storage tank (Oct 1974). They contain
a detailed plan of the maternity area, a plan of the main hospital,
and a northern grounds plan (the latter revealing to us the location
of the mortuary for the first time).
Again,
like the Boiler Room blueprints, these sheets are too large (and indeed
impractical from a filesize point of view if it was done at a detailed
resolution) to scan in their entirety, so here you will find some
overview photographs of them. They are a bit blurry in places, though
Sheet 2 - Photo 1 in particular is a truly excellent image. The plans
are - understandably after 30 years - a bit crumpled, but the intentions
of the documents can still be determined.

NOTE (July 2004) - THESE PHOTOS ARE OFFLINE
AT PRESENT, AND WE'LL BE RESTORING THEM FOR YOU VERY SOON.

Thanks
to Michael for providing these useful artefacts (read some of his
exploration tales here).
We've incorporated them into The Shrine to ensure that it remains
as comprehensive a resource as it can possibly be, though you can
also view the above images in their original context here.
